Featured work

Designing loyalty that delivers

To help merchants retain subscribers, we set out to reimagine Recharge’s loyalty offering. I designed a solution that rewards the subscriber journey, and incentivizes one-time buyers for converting to subscribers.

The result: A loyalty experience that delivers real value to both merchants and their customers.

What’s It Like to Work with Me?

Rhonda G: Design Director, Ex-Amazon Microsoft

Zaid is a talented, insightful designer who raise the bar on every project he takes on. He digs deep to understand the user problem and partners well with engineering.

Zaid is a great team player, always helpful and available.

At Jungle Scout, we worked on highly technical, data-centric solutions to complex information gathering and analysis problems. Zaid had a remarkable facility for simplifying these complicated experiences; his designs almost always delivered significant measurable improvements.

I would happily have Zaid on any team of mine!

Kayla S: Senior Product Designer, Recharge

I've had the opportunity to work with Zaid as Senior Product Designers together at Recharge. I've seen Zaid tackle a number of difficult UX challenges in our time together, one of those being taking a simple membership program to a robust loyalty offering. It was a behemoth of a problem to solve, and Zaid's team has seen strong success, which is a testament to Zaid's research, understanding of the problem space, and his design skills.

The thing about Zaid is that no matter how difficult the challenge, he always faces it eagerly with a smile on his face. He's willing to learn and is humble, and he wants to do his work well. He is intentional with his work, always willing to share and never lets ego get in the way. He's the kind of designer I'd choose to work with over and over again.

About me

My 7+ years of design experience in e-commerce, med-tech, and video games have taught me that impactful design extends far beyond creating a slick UI and meeting feature requirements.

To me, good design is about broadening perspectives and understanding the external world—whether it’s global events, local challenges, or the latest trends in your industry. It’s about empathy, observation, and continuous learning. Less talking, more listening. Less trying to impress, more striving to understand. This mindset not only leads to better design outcomes but has also led to me forming fulfilling and lasting relationships both in and outside of work, while helping to skyrocket my growth as a human and designer.

On the side, I co-run Rhizhome - a plant furniture brand - with my wife, Zainab, snap pictures on my travels, visit local art exhibits, and occasionally revisit a digital painting project that I probably should have abandoned ages ago.
